Exhibits 2019 - Present

Visiting Exhibit: Edgar/MHS Selected Artworks

Exhibit - Thru August 17, 2022

A visiting exhibit of the artworks of students from Edgar Middle School and Metuchen High School.

Courage: The Fight Against Inequality

Exhibit - February 1 - May 15, 2020

Remembering the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th amendment allowing women the right to vote, consider the courage it takes for human beings to fight against socially accepted or governmentally imposed policies of inequality. This exhibit explored the freedom to vote - or the lack thereof.

    Wonderfully Made

    Exhibit - September 21 - December 20, 2019

Psalm 139:14 says, “I will praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Marvelous are your works, and I know this very well.”

How does your art celebrate the wonder or depict the fear and uncertainty of this life? All humans are wonderfully made, and equipped with the inner strength to overcome obstacles and express the joy of this life.

This exhibit will feature a juried collection of fine art by artists with physical or mental disabilities.

This Fragile Earth, our Island Home

      Exhibit - February 2 - May 15, 2019

2019 marks the 50th anniversary of the moon landing. This feat of science, creativity, and bravery provided humans with the first view of earth while standing outside a spacecraft, evoking a sense of perspective and wonder about our fragile home, an island in the universe. How are we stewards of the earth? For this exhibit, we invite you to explore the earth, space travel, the universe - all that a moon landing and a sense of the earth and its strength and fragility bring to mind

        Kindness: Unexpected, Unusual, Unfailing

        Exhibit - September 17 - December 16, 2022

Kindness has been explored, expressed, and experienced throughout the ages by people from all walks of life. What kindnesses have you bestowed, received, or witnessed? How has kindness changed the course of history? Or the course of an afternoon? Does kindness necessarily involve human beings?

“No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.” ~ Aesop

“The smallest act of kindness is worth more than the greatest intention.” ~ Kahlil Gibran

“Spread love wherever you go. Let no one come to you without leaving happier.” ~ Mother Teresa

“Do your little bit of good where you are; it’s those little bits of good that overwhelm the world.” ~ Archbishop Desmond Tutu

This exhibit seeks to represent a broad and creative set of interpretations on the subject of kindness.
